Five credits a month, and saving a project costs one
Every review of RoomSketcher lists the tiers and moves on. The number that decides which one you need is not the monthly price. It is what a credit costs, and the cheap plan loses that comparison.
RoomSketcher pricing, per credit
Prices and credit allowances are RoomSketcher’s. The last column is arithmetic: the monthly price divided by the credits that month includes. Checked 1 September 2026.

Two things fall out of that column. Paying month to month costs exactly twice as much per credit as paying annually — $4.80 against $2.40 on Pro. And Team, at nearly three times the price, is the cheaper plan per credit: $1.75. If credits are what runs out rather than seats, the expensive tier is the economical one.

Saving a project
Deducted the first time you save. After that you can re-save the same project as often as you like at no further cost.
3D Floor Plans, 3D Photos, 360 Views
Every generation deducts credits. This is where a month disappears if you are iterating on how a room looks.
AI Renders
Cheap on paper, but credits come out in whole units: your first AI render takes a full credit, and that credit then covers ten of them.
2D Floor Plans
Unlimited on Pro and Team. If a measured 2D plan is all you need, the credit system barely touches you.
The practical read: five credits is five saved projects and nothing else. If you present in 2D, that is plenty, because 2D generation is free on both paid plans. If you present in 3D photos and 360 views, one thorough project can finish the month on its own.
What it is good at
Measured 2D floor plans, and it is not close. The drawing tools are mature, plans print to scale with real measurements, and unlimited 2D generation on the paid plans is the most generous thing in the whole pricing structure.
There is also a redraw service: send a sketch or a photo of a plan and they draw it properly, $38 a level on the free tier and from $18 a floor once you are paying. For an agent or a landlord who needs a clean plan and nothing else, that is a fair deal and no software to learn.
Where it stops
At the drawing and the picture. The furniture in a RoomSketcher plan comes from a library — it is indicative, not orderable. Once the layout is agreed, identifying each piece, checking it is in stock and pricing it is still entirely your job.
That is the gap Decato was built for: it reads a floor plan, matches real in-stock products against the wall lengths and door swings, drops what will not clear a walkway, and returns a priced specification. It is a Mac app, though, and it is not a browser drawing tool — if drawing plans is the job, RoomSketcher is the closer fit and this page is not trying to talk you out of it.

What is a RoomSketcher credit?
Their internal currency, and the number that actually decides which plan you need. Pro includes 5 a month, Team 20, both replenished on the 1st. Saving a project for the first time costs 1. 3D Floor Plans, 3D Photos and 360 Views each deduct credits every time they are generated. AI Renders are 0.10 each but are drawn down in whole credits, so the first one costs a full credit and covers ten. 2D floor plans are free on both paid plans (Checked 1 September 2026).
Is five credits a month enough?
It depends entirely on whether you need 3D. Five credits is five saved projects, and nothing else, before you are buying refills. If you work in measured 2D plans, five is generous, because 2D generation is free. If you present in 3D photos and 360 views, five is one small project.
Why is the cheaper plan more expensive per credit?
Because the tiers are priced on seats and features, not on credits. Pro annual works out at $2.40 a credit; Team annual at $1.75, despite costing three times as much overall. If credits are your constraint rather than seats, the expensive plan is the cheaper one.
Is RoomSketcher free?
There is a free tier, but it is a trial in everything but name: watermarked 3D output, a reduced furniture library, no credits. It is enough to see whether the drawing tools suit you and not enough to hand anything to a client.

The furniture in a RoomSketcher plan is library furniture, not a product you can order, so once the layout is agreed you are still the one identifying every piece, checking stock and pricing it. That gap is the reason Decato exists — but Decato is a Mac app that reads a floor plan, so if what you want is a browser tool for drawing plans, RoomSketcher is the closer fit.
